A gallery, a shop and artistic workplace under one roof
A former house and office at 212 Main Road Blackwood has been transformed into an innovative creative hub filled with unique artistic work and imaginative concepts thanks to a team of dedicated individuals.
Wandering further into the building's little rabbit warren of rooms, there's also some beautiful and unusual jewellery, including the unique paper jewellery made by Corina. "The jewellery is environmentally friendly and it's very lightweight to wear," explains Corina. There are also unique pieces from Lizard Chainmail and Urban Tinker.
Kuoni Creative has a room filled with unique jewellery
For those who are after something a little more unusual, check out the 3D printer. People are scanned by a hand held infrared scanner and in a couple of hours, they can have their very own 'mini-me.' Sam Deeprose, who heads up '3-DPO', Kuoni's 3D Production Office says the models can be used for many things. "They make great wedding-cake toppers, or can be used to commemorate a special event. A pregnant lady could see her body change over months too."
Sam also highlights that people could dress up and be a super-hero, or turn their model into a unique glowing ornament by using LEDs.
Nice to see something innovative and artistic happening in Blackwood. Blackwood has very little to offer the passer by in the way of interesting shops...maybe this is the start of a more vibrant Blackwood...let's hope so.
