Take a stroll through a stunning, serene setting

If you're like me and enjoy being a tourist in your own town, you will constantly be on the lookout for new and stimulating places to explore. When you've had enough of the 9-5 daily grind and want to escape, even if you only have a few hours to spare, I suggest you take a trip to the Kuitpo Forest.

Located in the Mt. Lofty ranges, the forest welcomes everyone to its scenic walking trails. Providing a stunning, natural background, the forest is also the perfect location for weddings, picnics or photo shoots. Upon arrival, there are plenty of suitable parking spots near the many entrances to the walking trails. Once inside, you can stick to the paths, or if you're feeling adventurous you can cautiously wander slightly off-track. Wherever you are in the large forest, make sure you immerse yourself into the serene surroundings, completely forgetting about the world beyond the towers of trees.

You can do as little or as much as you like in the forest; while there are walking trails varying from 1-4 hours, you can choose to just walk in a little way, or find a nice spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful serenity. There is also a campground if a few hours is not enough for you take in all of the beauty. Whether you are a tourist or just wanting to explore parts of your own state you didn't know about, being only about 40 kms out of the Adelaide CBD, it is the perfect location for a quick getaway and a touch of tranquility.
