If your child(ren) are budding writers, then this one day adventure will be right up their street. The Katharine Susannah Prichard (KPS) Foundation Inc are running a full day workshop for children aged between 10 and 16 on Tuesday 4th October 2016 9.30am-3.30pm. The young cadets will write and create a news magazine!

The aim of the fun filled program is to show the different avenues available to make a career out of writing, whilst having fun and learning to work in a team.

When you register for the event, you will be sent an exclusive KSP Press Club Media Pass on a lanyard which your child will need to bring with them on the day to gain entry.

The day will start by learning interview techniques which they can put into practise by leading a press conference with a guest author. Your child will choose a topic that interests them (maybe current events, photojournalism, fiction, history etc) and they will be guided through the process of how to create a news column or creative feature article. Once completed with all content, including graphics and images, they will learn how to edit the piece with help from a KSP Press Club style sheet. They can even film a short 'on location' news segment or take a seat at the news desk to film their special bulletin (being filmed is optional).

By taking park in this brilliant workshop, all cadets will become published authors and receive a complimentary digital copy of the edited magazine (which will be sent out about a month after the workshop). They will also receive a link to the edited Press Club news desk film/press conference which will be published on UTube.

The program includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and is limited to 20 young writers, so book now to secure a place!

Local sci-fi author, Guy Salvidge will facilitate and this is a fabulous opportunity to speak with a real author and learn essential life and work related skills.

What a brilliant opportunity for your child(ren) and a different engaging program which will allow them to be using technology while learning! Genius program!!!!
