Krump Till You Slump at The Zoo

Published April 3rd 2011

In 2009, Ou Est La Swimming Pool sang about dancing the way they feel. If you'd like to do the same, this is your new Tuesday night activity.

Krump Till You Slump is a dancercise class that encourages participants to recreate the same frenzied, unselfconscious dance moves you pulled out at the club on Saturday night. Sure, you probably haven't down three or four vodka Red Bulls, but, unlike a typical weekend at most inner city clubs, you won't be surrounded by judgmental glamours or hipsters who think that dancing is, like, mainstream and stuff.

So bring your dance shoes, plus a water bottle, and a towel probably isn't a bad idea. If you're really nervous about dancing in front of strangers, bring a group of friends along and you can pretend you're having a dance party in your bedroom.

Tuesday nights from 6.30pm until 7.30pm is the time and The Zoo (711 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley) is the place. Participation will set you back $5.00. Oh and don't worry despite the title, krumping is not mandatory.
