The Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) has a long history of producing some of the world's finest directors. Think Jane Campion, director of
The Piano, Gillian Armstrong, director of
Little Women, Philip Noyce, director of
Rabbit-Proof Fence and
Patriot Games, or Warwick Thornton, director of
Samson and Delilah.
To keep the creative spirit flowing, the school is providing free live talks, featuring some of Australia's best directors and writers. This Tuesday, Kriv Stenders director of
The Battle of Long Tan and
Red Dog and Jocelyn Moorhouse, director of
The Dressmaker, ABC's
Stateless and
How To Make An American Quilt, will be in conversation with AFTRS Head of Directing Rowan Woods. Join in on the conversation by asking questions in realtime and listen to them discuss their successful careers, current projects, what inspires them and what it is like to move between movies and TV land.
If you're stuck on creating that amazing film or TV masterpiece, after restrictions are lifted, then this fantastic free series, is a must to partake in. This is an inspiring and entertaining way to spend Tuesday lunchtimes with the one-hour chats kicking off at 1pm. If you have missed one of the Talks @AFTRS then previous recordings are available on AFTRS Facebook page www.facebook.com/aftrs/
