Conveniently situated at 242 Victoria Street, Brunswick, this sophisticated multi-purpose gallery space, run by Nick Kreisler, offers challenging and innovative works by established and upcoming artists. Its main room is the perfect space for exhibitions with plenty of light. The narrow hallway toward the back of the building is also utilised as gallery space.



Currently exhibiting is Anne Hastie's "Going, going, gone…" running until May 29th. Her works display paintings and photographs documenting the ever-changing face of China's rapid cultural evolution as it enters a new phase in global interaction. The photographic section of the exhibition entitled "On The Street Of Ghosts" is located in the hallway and presents images of deserted shop fronts in Pingyao, Shanxi province, in central China, highlighting the price paid for progress.

The paintings are on canvas and paper, displaying vibrancy of colour contrasted with organic tones, inviting you to explore their textural terrains. These images slowly reveal themselves, offering insight into the intention, experience, and narrative of the pieces, involving you in the journey. The artist explores and exploits the interactions and reactions between the mediums of paint, ink, varnish, water and air, using her intervention during their liquid state to create striking multi-layered imagery. These works of living colour and marbled textures can reflect what we see in nature, yet their abstract and ethereal forms can carry you into other-worldly realms.



Anne Hastie will be giving a talk at on Saturday, May 24th at 2pm where you will have a chance to hear about her works and her residencies in Beijing and ask her any questions you may have.

is open Wed–Sun 10am–3pm and entry is free.
