The very first Korean cultural festival in Melbourne
These days, Korean Wave (K-Wave) is so imminent and influential that people around the world enjoy and take part in experiencing the culture. Now Korean enthusiasts in Melbourne should rejoice as the first ever Korean cultural festival is coming on September 7 2013.
Brought to Korean lovers by SQ Entertainment, the festival will take place at Federation Square. Such is a strategic place accessible by anyone from many parts of Melbourne, so there is no excuse to miss this event. The festival will start at 12pm and end at 9pm.
K-Wave festival will be a number of things, including:
1. Food tour. Across the River Terrace there will be many food stalls serving Korean cuisines to spoil our tongues. 2. Exhibit stalls. Details have not gone out yet, but there could be a lot of K-Pop merchandises and Korea-related knick-knacks visitors can check out and, if some tickle them fancy, buy. 3. Performances. The gem of K-Wave, Korean music has gone viral around the world. We don't think of K-Wave without the famous girl and boybands. There is still no information on which star will come (or if they are coming at all), but there will be definitely performers singing and dancing the hit songs. A live DJ will also be lifting the mood up. 4. Special guests visits. Again, there is still little information, but for sure the YouTube star EatYourKimchi will come. They are Simon and Martina, Canadian teachers who live in Korea and through their channels they like to make videos about their lives there.
Best of all, the festival is free!
Moreover, if willing, take part in making K-Wave happen. You can be one of the volunteers, apply here. If performing is your passion, audition here and you might be a part of the performers line-up, delivering Korean music to the visitors.
