Nature puts on her own show!
Okay, so life has taken a rather odd turn for us all over the past months. Many of us taking that evening walk around and around, not quite sure what we are doing. Living basically and healthily.
Fortunately, I've been in lockdown on the Mornington Peninsula - I've not been able to go very far and I've had the opportunity to sit and watch the sunset numerous times at the local beach (within 5km).
Preparing to come out of this long sometimes hazy faze of lockdown is still a bit daunting and many people tell me they don't quite know what to do. We've all got a little used to doing our local shopping and "sticking to the rules", wearing our masks and just ploughing on.
So whilst many of us are valuing the time at home and in nature, there's a lot of us having to think about how the "post-COVID world" will affect us.
That time of my COVID walks, in my day to day routine, worked and is still in place. The time I get at the beach adds something to my day that can't be taken from me.
Koonya Beach, sitting on the ocean side of Sorrento, is a surprising and amazing location to experience an odd sense of wonderment at what nature has to show us. It is just one amazing location in Sorrento that has provided many of us light relief from the lockdown lifestyle. It's a place that is now uniquely part of my life.
As part of the extensive coastline Mornington Peninsula Parks area, there are a number of walks you can take that branch off from the Hughes Road entry and from there you can add new locations to explore over time.
This image is of an evening when the tide was at its lowest, the normally stormy ocean beach was calm, with all the rockfaces exposed. It's the calmest I've ever seen it with the most superb sunset to crown nature's majesty. You don't mind the world stopping so much when you are here!
There's still plenty of online support options, plenty of online courses, lots of local coffee shops and spots to stop and chat with your friends.
Now, I'm allowed to venture further, but I don't think you can create a better show than what nature prepared for us last night.
