A new writer, I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
I am always finding something different to explore...

Kondalilla National Park, Maleny, is just a short drive north from Montville, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
My sister and I spent the most enjoyable day there after spending time walking through the ever popular Montville Village.
Arriving at the carpark, we headed down to the picnic area for a light lunch. Plenty going on there; we had people barbecuing, a man playing his didgeridoo, a kookaburra flying low and putting on quite a show, and a birthday party. People were generally enjoying the peace and quiet.
How lucky were we when a monitor lizard paid a visit and kept us amused for quite some time before wandering across the grass back into the bush.
After lunch we took a leisurely walk through the rainforest down to the rock pools. There are several tracks you can take, all clearly marked as to ease of walking and approximate length of time it takes.
Along the way you can't help stopping to take in the sights. The plant and wild life is abundant. I found the trees fascinating with their faces watching us as we walked, stag and elk horn adorning their trunks.
We took photos then headed on down the track to the lookout where you get a great view of the falls. Although we hadn't had rain for quite some time, the falls were still very impressive. Again the view was majestic.
