The winter months create a craving for something warm and a little naughty.
Koko Black in Chadstone is a gorgeous haven of chocolatey smells, dark wood furniture and fantastic service. The whole environment of this shop is designed to relax with a decadent edge to the setting. The staff as well as being lovely are very knowledgeable about the products and menu items.
On this occasion I visited KoKo black with three friends. Two of my friends enjoyed the Soy hot chocolate. The staff were kind enough to make on order one 'weak' Soy hot chocolate as requested. The Soy hot chocolate was described by both as delicious - perfectly blended with no sediment at the bottom of the cup, which can happen at some other venues.
I ordered the Soy chai. The fresh tea is again perfectly blended with steamed soy milk that is served in a pot with a strainer. The tea was delicious and smooth with a sweet and spicy finish.
The menu is a mixture of cakes, hot and cold drinks and specialty hand made chocolates all touched with the chocolate theme - although herbal teas and English breakfast teas as well as juices are available.
I would describe the price as average with a specialty coffee starting at $3.80 to a bit more indulgence with hot chocolate varieties costing $5.95 (definitely worth the cost).
A fabulous treat with truly pleasant surroundings.
