I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
On Saturday April 5, the streets of Kogarah will be filled with fun as Kogarah Community Services and Kogarah City Council put on the Kogarah Community Festival to raise money for the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation. There will be two sides to the festival; a traditional event, with entertainment, food, shopping and more, and then a special Amazing Race-style challenge around the area.

This community challenge will involve fifteen teams of four people working their way through a series of challenges found at eight pit stops around Kogarah's CBD. These will test their skills and require competitors to use their knowledge of the local area to win prizes. It will start at 11.00am and if you want to sign up yourself, you can find registration forms here.

For everyone else, there will be two hours of events and activities in Kogarah Town Square, starting at 12.00pm. This includes entertainment and stalls, as well as more challenges for the community to have fun with, where people have the chance to win prizes like a Play Station 3 Console, a personal training package and tickets to go see the St George Illawarra Dragons play.

Cathy Nisbet, Community Development Worker at Kogarah Community Services says, "The Kogarah Community Festival will be a great family event, with fun and entertainment for all ages and a wonderful opportunity to get to know Kogarah better."
