Kofi Beans

Set in the heart of Croydon among various real estate offices and rambling cafes is a true gem. For great-tasting, fair-trade coffee, luscious European hot chocolates and a mouth-watering range of meals to choose from, Kofi Beans stands out as the best culinary destination in the area.

With a strong Moroccan influence, both in the decor and menu, Kofi Beans offers a selection that is both affordable (most lunch items being between $10-20) and lovingly prepared, and is testament to the throng of friends drinking coffee together, and work colleagues on lunch break that fill the place between 12 and 2pm. The café opens for breakfast and lunch daily, and for dinner on Fridays.

The venue is fully licensed and chiefly uses organic and free-range products in their food preparation. Kofi Beans has several vegetarian and vegan friendly options, as well as the expected seafood and meat dishes. However, there is nothing usual about this place.

Most of the food is original and somewhat cosmopolitan, yet tasty and viable enough for anyone to enjoy. The staff are friendly and welcoming and deliver excellent service. Whilst enduring a short wait for food and drinks to be served, patrons can browse the collection of authentic and exotic home wares made in Morocco and the Middle East.

Brightly coloured cushions, elegant lanterns and mosaics are just some of the treasures available for purchase, and make a wonderful aesthetic contribution to the café's atmosphere. Outside is a courtyard where customers can also sit on sunny days, but doing so may mean missing out on the vibrant spirit of the place. Overall, Kofi Beans is a must-visit for lovers of all foods entertaining yet value conscious.
