Kofi Beans is a unique, Moroccan-style cafe and restaurant in Croydon. It combines two of my favourite things: great coffee and lanterns (which are for sale).

When we first walked in I wasn't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or head to the counter - but a waitress helped us out eventually.

Menus were brought, drinks were ordered and atmosphere was soaked in.

There were lots of vegetarian options on the menu and they all sounded great to me - including pumpkin gnocchi, mini pizzas, and cheese and spinach bureks. In the end I ordered a herb and chickpea falafel salad which came with a tahini dressing. Loved it. It was totally worth the price.

Warm, light, crumbly and full of flavour:

My fiancé ordered a mushroom bruschetta with extra avocado - he loved it too.

His orange juice was freshly squeezed and so thick that the straw stood by itself.

My cappuccino was delicious - no sugar required.

There were also chocolates and cakes for sale.

There's a courtyard out the back, and they also host gigs here.

The downside to this place was that it was quite busy and loud inside - but I can't wait to go back.
