Life is about the journey - some roads are not always what they seem but you sure learn a great deal from them!

Yanchep National Park can be found about 40 minutes north of Perth. It is a hub for many adventures, however the Koala Park would have to be one of the most enjoyable experiences, especially for new travellers to Perth.

The Koala Park can be found adjacent to the information centre. It is a wooden walkway, allowing guest to see koalas in their 'natural' habitat.

Notably, as I found out, koalas sleep a lot! There are times when you can see some koalas eating a few lush leaves, however most of the time, you would need to turn your gaze upwards towards tree tops to catch a glimpse of a local celebrity.

While there is a pub and cafe on site, it would be advisable to take a picnic bag with snacks and drinks. As we tried to see as much as we could in a day, we found that tummies began to rumble at a point which was the furthest from any cafe or pub.

The Koala Park is great for kids and those travelling with prams. There are viewing spots which allow guests to stop and enjoy the scenery. It is also accessible for senior travellers, with benches in strategic places for a quick rest and view.

There is no entry fee to the Koala Park. However, there is an entry fee to the Yanchep National Park. At our time of visit, June 2017, it was $12.00 per car. Apart from a picnic basket, make sure you have water, a hat and sunscreen.

Awesome photos. I love this place. I haven't been to it for a while. Looks like I will need to clear the schedule!

I tend to agree. If I was given a head start on my favorite meal, I don't think I would wake up the rest of the family! Very entertaining article. Thank you.

Very interesting article with a twist of humor. It would be amazing if this article had a little ribbon on the side because it is good.
