It's that time of the year when everyone smiles more, gives more and wears the spirit of Christmas on their sleeves easily. A Carols by Candlelight is the epitome of bringing the community together in song and celebration. It's when everyone finds their patch of grass, sits back, lets out their vocal chords and enjoys. Such is this free family-friendly event on Saturday 1 December 2018 from 4-10pm at Wally Tew Reserve, 6 Lyndale Court, Ferntree Gully. This is a drug and alcohol-free event and please leave your pets at home.
On the night, be entertained by talented local acts to nationally acclaimed artists and musicians, and dancers. Activities begin at 4pm, with the pre-show program kicking off at 5.30pm, featuring the grand finalists of the Knox Factor at Carols, so make sure you're there to applaud them.
The headline artist is none other than Karen Lee Andrews, aka Miss Murphy (finalist - The Voice), with her R&B and soothing soul sounds. She'll be joined by the uplifting gospel choir Urban Praise. All artists performing will be supported by the incredible musicians from the Royal Australian Navy Band, Melbourne Attachment.
This event also celebrates the International Day of People with Disability by being a flagship Access and Inclusion event. To celebrate there's a wide range of accessibility features that include accessible parking, toilets, Auslan interpreters, Braille versions of the Carols songbooks (please request in advance or at the Event Control on the day), proflooring pathways for wheelchairs and prams, designated accessible seating areas, accessible ramp onto the stage, a chill-out space, a Marveloo accessible restroom and an Access Key that'll be available for download closer to date.
Volunteers are always welcome. If you're interested, please contact the Festival and Events team on 03 9298 8000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
