Kick off your work boots and put on your party shoes for Friday afternoon knock off at Brisbane Powerhouse.
Knock Off Friday offers Brisbane wage slaves the chance to start their weekend with an hour of comedy. Expect two to six sets from local and international comedians, with a broad range of material including comedy cabaret, parody boy bands, mystery guests and everything in between.
This is a free event with no bookings required, and if that sounds to be true, there are a few caveats. The venue fills up quickly so get in early if you want to get a seat, and as the sets can contain coarse language and adult themes, it's adults only.
Powerhouse has two licensed eateries for anyone looking to kick on. Alto offers an Italian fine dining experience, with antipasto platters to share and slow roasted meats. Mary Mae's Bar and Kitchen is a more causal experience, with po'boys sliders, poutine, and a signature Bloody Mary.
The Brisbane Powerhouse and surrounding New Farm Park have always got events and experiences taking place so check their website before you go to make the most of your experience. And a hot tip, from a local - a sunset CityCat ride is the best way to get there.
Knock Off Friday runs every Friday evening from 6pm - 7pm at Turbine Platform.
