A sea of orange at
Queensbridge Square, 1A Queensbridge Street, Southbank can only mean one thing. It's the 11th annual event of the
KLM Dutch Orange Day .
Sunday 26 April 2015 from 10am to 4pm is the date and time you're looking for, and entry is free.
Join the Dutch community in celebrating
King's Day ('
Koningsdag'), their national holiday. The theme this year is
'Taste of Holland' and the festival will showcase a wide range of Dutch cuisine. The Dutch street food on offer includes the well known 'poffertjes' (Dutch pancakes), seafood (herring, mussels and fish nuggets), stroopwafels, traditional mash-pot dishes, pea soup, beef croquettes, cheese toasties, sweet treats, imported grocery products and more.
KLM Dutch Orange Day was established in 2004 and is a non-profit organisation. Through events such as this, it raises awareness of the Dutch community and its culture to the Victorians. All proceeds from the day go to their charity partner DutchCare Ltd.
There'll be plenty of activities for the kids that include games and face paintings. There'll also be performances and entertainment and an old fashioned
Free Market ('Vrijmarket').
