Converse in linguistics spoken throughout Star Trek universe
Pe'el earth humans, go where no other book shop has gone before and beam into Chelsea where you can take part in FREE Klingon language classes taking place at Notions Unlimited Bookshop on the first Sunday of every month.
Unless you have been living under a space rock, you will of course know of fictional extraterrestrial humanoid warrior species The Klingon's from science fiction TV franchise Star Trek. As fictional as they may be, Klingon is an existing language developed by Marc Okrand, author of The Klingon Dictionary, based on the Latin alphabet with curly apostrophes, with a small number of people around the world conversing in fluent Klingonese.
Klingon language classes at Notions Unlimited are student run, with basic notes and activity sheets provided. Although there is no fee involved with joining lessons, all attendees are expected to own a copy of The Klingon Dictionary, which can be purchased through the shop for $24.95. Advise when booking your class if you wish to buy a book so that sufficient copies will be available.
Notions Unlimited opened its doors in 2012 as an independent bookshop specialising in science fiction, fantasy and horror, as well as media and gaming tie-ins (Doctor Who, Star Trek, Halo, etc), graphic novels, Manga, games and gaming supplies, non-fiction, popular science, paranormal and New Age titles, and a range of posters, art, gifts and collectables.
Other interesting meetings and events include ghost hunting and cryptozoology info evenings, Dungeons and Dragons meets, board game sessions, dark fiction writer meets and more. Check out Notions Unlimited Bookshop online and follow on Facebook for all the latest events.
