Having some free time to share some of my amazing experiences while waiting for my recently submitted PhD in Health Science thesis to be examined. Don't worry, nothing too technical to read here. Just enjoy the ride.

A trip to Kuala Lumpur city centre could leave you weary after all that shopping in concrete malls, especially so when you have children who may get restless. Only a short 5 minutes from the KL Sentral Station, Kuala Lumpur Bird Park or KL Bird Park is nestled among the green lush tropical rainforest and is open even on public holidays. The best way to get there, if you do not have a car, is to get the Hop-on-hop-off double decker tour bus (Day ticket priced at RM45 for one adult, RM24 for one child/student and a child below 5 years rides free) which can be purchased online here. The bus will take you straight to the KL Bird Park's doorstep.
With its vast 20.9 acres divided into four zones, this "world's largest free-flight walk-in aviary" is bound to keep your little ones entertained with interesting daily activities. Be sure to arrive before 10.00 am to witness the feeding of lories and ostriches situated in Zone 4. Fret not if you miss this, as bird feeding are aplenty throughout designated times. At 10.30am and 11.30 am, there will be feeding for free flying birds and hornbills respectively. If you miss that as well, there will be more feeding at 2.30 pm and 4.00 pm for the eagles and storks respectively in the afternoon.
The main attraction at the bird park is the bird show which starts at 12.30 pm. The show will definitely get your little ones excited and entertained. If they can't get enough of the talented birds, there will be another show at 3.30pm. There will also be plenty of time and opportunities for photography and nature walks. All in all, this is a great place for the whole family.
One of the many stars at the bird show ready to perform
