Vintage fashions are making a come back
Vintage styles are making a big come back and I am loving it. How ecstatic was I to stumble upon a brand new shop that sells all things vintage inspired close to my usual hang out. Kitten D'Amour, a boutique overflowing with all things feminine and vintage inspired, opened its doors recently in Castle Towers shopping center in Castle Hill and I am sure I was one of the very first to walk in through its doors.
The boutique looks and smells so inviting that it made it extremely hard for me to pass by without having a peek inside. The staff in their retro gear greeted us with a warm welcome. They are definitely the extra friendly kind, ready to assist anyone who walks in through their doors.
Lace, pearls, shoes and all
The first time I stepped in to the shop I had my two giggly teenager daughters in tow. The pair were as excited as I was to be in such chic surroundings. Girls being girls, they wanted to try out everything from hats to shoes. Like I said, the staff are pretty friendly and quite obliging, even going to the extent of inviting my girls to try out some of the stuff on display. The attitude of the staff, without a doubt, puts you at ease. So hats off to Amanda, Leanna & Ally for a job well done in making us feel more than welcome in their new store.
The boutique is reeking of fun and fashion. Figure flattering cute dresses, pencil skirts, full skirts all in fun and feminine prints are just the tip of the ice burg of garments on display for sale at Kitten D' Amour. There are those essential pearls, lace trimmings, bows, buttons and gloves all intended to make a girl look and feel pretty. How can I not mention the selection of flowers to adorn your hair, purses to match your attire, vintage bling and those classic shoes all lined up for that complete look? Kitten D'Amour stocks everything a vintage lover wants and more.
I instantly fell in love with not one but several dresses that were on display and an event I was attending that week was a good enough excuse to make at least one of those dresses mine. It was an absolute pleasure trying out dresses in this shop. I felt as if I am in a movie. The staff are ever so willing to make suggestions and run up and down the length of the shop bringing accessories to create the look you are after. I tried on corsets, lace dresses, full skirts and figure flattering pieces and finally went with an absolutely gorgeous red dress with a lace skirt.
The classic styles sold here are not too classic that you would be stepping out looking like you've snatched a dress from your grandmother's wardrobe. The distinct and elaborately crafted bygone inspired pieces at Kitten D' Amour uses modern fabrics and accessories to create that unique lady like look making their collection perfect for any occasion in a way that is suitable for modern times.
I have to admit the goods sold in this boutique doesn't come cheap, a full skirted dress starts at $189 but face it such prices are expected with any quality product and quality is what this quaint boutique offers.
