Located along Elder Drive in Mawson Lakes, Kitchen Smith is a good place to enjoy a good variety of cafe-style food. Aside from its main menu, the cafe also offers pastries for those looking for a quick eat.

The Mushroom Omelette offered here is of a thinner variety while still retaining a delightfully fluffy texture. The mixed mushrooms imparted a delectable earthy flavour which was complemented nicely by the ham. A topping of mixed greens gave the dish a fresh appearance and toast was offered alongside. The toast was topped with butter to ensure that it was not too dry.

We liked that their Baked Eggs had runny yolks and the chorizo that was included imparted a delectable smoky taste. The tomato sauce notably included butter beans to provide a bit of extra texture. The eggs were particularly good eaten together with the toasted sourdough, which did a good job of soaking up the tomato sauce.

The Lemon Cheesecake was actually French Toast with a topping inspired by its namesake. The brioche French Toast had a light and fluffy texture and the lemon curd was not too sour. The strawberries and roasted rhubarb were not too sweet and the shortbread crumb provided a bit of crunch. The shortbread crumb also had a mild lemon taste to it. The tanginess of the lemon curd was balanced by the whipped cream and edible flowers gave the dish an eye-catching appearance.

The decor of the cafe gave it a casual feel with diners having the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy cafe food at Mawson Lakes consider giving Kitchen Smith a try.

The dishes all look amazing, however I would sway towards the mushroom omelette. :)
