Perfect location, a perfect Sydney experience
For anyone who wants to see and experience the vibrant bright lights of Sydney, the Kirketon Hotel is just perfect.. Surrounded by an eclectic mix of cafes and restaurants, along with the exciting nightclubs and bars, it will certainly entice and stimulate your Sydney experience.
An enchanting foyer to make you welcome.
From the moment you step into the delightful foyer and walk the red carpet mirrored hallway to your room, you know you are in for an exciting stay. I felt like Alice in Wonderland - full of excitement and curiosity due to its ambiance.
Vibrant contemporary design hallway.
A cosy 40 room boutique hotel where customer service is a priority; sits on the fringe of Kings Cross in Darlinghurst. Kirketon Hotel staff pride themselves on creating an intimate experience for their national, international and business travellers with their warm, friendly and personable interactions. Sydneysiders themselves often stay when they want a fun night out with friends to enjoy the bustling nightclub scene.
Superior room is spacious for a city hotel.
The hotel offers several types of accommodation to suite your budget. Lash out on a Superior Room or Executive Room or choose a smaller Standard Room for those one night quick stays. Each room is individually styled with interesting and plush furniture, yet all have the same elegant theme and colour tones in crisp white and warm caramel browns. There are large ornate silver framed 'looking glass' mirrors to check out your hot look before hitting the town.
Standard room is great when you want to save your money on a great meal.
Many return time and again because of the little things that create a great experience to make your stay memorable. For example, the staff often hand out a personal letter to welcome you back, along with a gorgeous pouch of chocolates. And guess what, Kirketon Hotel is one of the very few hotels to have free Wifi, so you won't get the horrid shock when you go to pay your bill.
It's the little things that you remember. A gorgeous little pouch of chocolates.
The Kirketon Hotel understands that you want to experience the area, so instead of having an in house restaurant, they organise breakfast at the cafe across the street, where the Eggs Benedict are to die for. With a step and a hop, you can wander Darlinghurst Road and Victoria Street where eateries are like fairy lights on a Christmas tree, abundant and flickering. No matter what your budget or desire, you will will not go hungry.
Eau De Vie. Multi award winning bar.
So, you want some night life? You don't even have to leave the building to find your first bar. As I waited at reception, like Alice, I was curious to see where the door at the far end led. I happened to walk into Eau De Vie. An award winning intimate and luxurious 1920's style jazz bar. It won the spirited Best New Cocktail Bar in the World in 2011.
Yuzu Mule cocktail served in a copper mug.
Grabbing my Yuzu Mule cocktail, I was set. It was made with vodka and the most decadent citrus lemon honey curd.
Fun Manchu's delightful decor and renown food.
My curiosity heightened as I wandered back into the foyer and found large double red gloss doors, exposing Fu Manchua, a colourful and picturesque Chinese Malaysian restaurant, which is a well renown establishment around town. Yes, indeed, the Kirketon Hotel is full of interesting surprises.
I loved the old black and white Laurel and Hardy film playing on the first floor foyer. It put a big smile on my face!
The Kirketon Hotel is assuredly the perfect location for the perfect experience to see Sydney's bright lights and taste its flavour. Add friendly smiles, great customer service and those wonderful little surprises, creating a memorable stay.
Rack rates are:
Superior Room $260
Executive Room $215
Standard Room $160 With no hidden extras unless you attack the mini bar late in the night.
Kirketon Hotel is part of the small independent collection of unique boutique hotels from 8 Hotels which I must curiously check out more very soon.
