KinJo Japanese restaurant and sushi bar is located in the trendy part of town; 'The Spot', Randwick. The ambience is serene and the staff will make you feel right at home. The decor is elegant and artistic, although the tables aren't very big.
Presentation of the food is just as immaculate as the setting. The menu is very extensive, which makes it difficult to choose. Start with some edamame and gyoza (steamed or fried dumplings). The softshell crab salad (pictured above) is a tasty bargain at only $11. The grilled salmon rolls (pictured) are like California rolls but with delicious toppings. For something lighter, the sashimi is always fresh. Vegetarians haven't been left out either, they make a fantastic veggie bento box for $18 and it is packed with goodness. This is a great place for the health conscious; they even have black rice options. The food is quite light so don't be afraid to order big. If you don't finish it you can always take the leftovers home. It is quite good value for money, especially if you order the specials.
You can order online for takeaway and delivery (minimum $20). They open for lunch from 12-3pm and close until dinner service, which starts at 4.45pm. They are kid friendly and take cards too. Why not pop next door to The Sweet Spot for some delectable desserts? Make a night of it and catch a flick at the Randwick Ritz, or grab a fancy cocktail at Bat Country Bar, both are just down the road.
