The 2014 annual King's Spring Festival is 2 days of family fun with something for absolutely everyone to enjoy in this beautiful location. Held on the picturesque grounds of the exclusive King's School at Parramatta, the Spring Festival and Annual Art Show weekend has flourished into an event for all Sydneysiders – not only for those directly connected to The King's School.
The art show provides some of Australia's leading artists the opportunity to show their works in the demographic heart of Australia's largest city. With a gala opening planned for Friday 22nd August from 7-10pm, drinks and canapés will be served and this will be the only opportunity to purchase artworks. Tickets can be purchased online to attend this event.
2010 Winner Kings School Annual Art Show
Over 35,000 people attended the festival last year and this year will be even bigger with an abundance of events planned. A detailed and very comprehensive program can be found online as there is just too much to list here. Gates open at 10am on Saturday & Sunday ($5 per car entry fee). Let the fun begin.
Kids will love the daily live performances and scheduled Meet and Greets by Dirtgirlworld,How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Wizard of Oz. There will also be an animal farm, face painting, balloon benders, carnival rides & sideshow alley, London Bus rides (Sunday only) and the NSW Fire Brigade will also be there to entertain fire engine loving littlies. (please note carnival rides are $5 ea or $30 whole day pass).
High Tea at Kings Spring Festival
For the adults, indulge in an exquisite High Tea in the Gowan Brae mansion which was recently featured in the Great Gatsby. The Gowan Brae Courtyard will serve an indulgent menu including freshly baked scones, mouth-watering sweets and delicious sandwiches with a selection of fine teas. Priced from $25-$35 per person, seating is limited so please book early via the website.
For sports fans there will be appearances from the Western Sydney Wanderers and the NSW Waratahs. For car enthusiasts, there will be the largest collection of British Classic Cars in Australia. There will also be over 80 spring market stalls providing a huge range of products including children's products, fashion, gourmet foods, health and beauty, homewares and jewellery. There will be food stalls with all kinds of tempting offerings or you could head to the Kings Café for a coffee or a sit down lunch.
