The two lap course with a short beach run between laps, is the main event of the Kings Of The Coast event. It's serious business here with top athletes from all around Australia competing. The winner for 2012, Codie Grimsey, finished it in 38 minutes and 20 seconds. Find all other results here.
The day has been organised by the Weekend Warrior Events team and is part of the Queensland Ocean Swim Series along with the Cooly Classic in Coolangatta on April 7 and the Wrecked event at Tangalooma in Brisbane over the weekend of April 20 and 21.
If you just want to test the waters when it comes to your ocean swimming abilities why not give the 1km swim a go. The kids can also get in on the fun with the 300m Kids Surf Dash. It's a free event for kids ages 10 years and up.

Being held at the beautiful Kings Beach there's also a wide range of accommodation available locally if you want to make a proper weekend out of it. The Rolling Surf Resort on Levuka Avenue and the Casablanca Beachfront Apartments on Ormonde Terrace are two of the closest places you'll find.
