Orange is the colour of the day! Get creative with your orange outfit and you could win instant prizes! It's all happening on King's Day - 27 April 2019 from 12pm till 1am the next morning (28 Apr) at The Wharf Hotel , 18-38 Siddeley St, Melbourne. CLICK HERE for tickets. Koningsdag aka King's Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander . It's generally celebrated with music, street parties, flea markets and fun fairs. The King himself travels through the country with his family. This national event of Holland has everyone dressed in orange as the Dutch Royal Family bears the name House of Oranje which literally means the colour orange. Donning orange wigs and or makeup is not out of the question, so take a hint and get creative to win that hamper.

For the Dutch expats and friends, it's a chance to enjoy a taste of home with food and drink specials all day, plus DJ beats from 5pm to keep the party going. There's a $10 street food menu, Heineken happy hour between 12pm & 3pm, $6 schooners, $15 hot Dutch Apple Genever, Amsterdam Radio from 12pm, face painting from 2-4pm and Koekhappen at 3pm.
