King Sejong The Great's Birth Commemoration Day – Silkscreen Painting Workshop



The Korean Cultural Centre Australia is hosting the King Sejong the Great’s Birth Commemoration Day – Silkscreen Painting Workshop on Thursday, 15 May 2025, starting from 6 pm to 7.30 pm, in celebration of the newly designated Korean National Holiday starting in 2025, which commemorates the birth of King Sejong the Great.

This day honours his remarkable achievements and aims to preserve and advance his humanitarian values, spirit of independence, and practical vision. Located at Korean Cultural Centre Australia (Ground Floor), 255 Elizabeth Street, Sydney, the workshop will feature a theoretical lecture on his contributions across various fields, including the creation of Hangeul (the Korean alphabet), national defence, science, and the arts. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in a hands-on experience using the silkscreen printing process to create a t-shirt featuring his portrait or the Hunminjeongeum (Korean script). All materials for this workshop will be provided, and participants will have the chance to honour his legacy while engaging in a creative activity.

Only selected participants will be notified via email on Monday, 12 May 2025.
