King River Cafe is a family business that has been serving great food and fresh regional produce to Oxley locals and visitors for over twenty years.



The servings are generous and the service is welcoming and friendly. On arrival, you are greeted with table water and complimentary bread and olive oil. The printed menu is complemented by a specials blackboard full of tasty delights. You are welcome to byo wine for $5 corkage but why would you when the prices are so reasonable.



The decor is rustic and comfortable with a few quirky touches. Many of the menu items are suitable for vegetarians or those on gluten-free and dairy-free diets.



All the meals we ordered were very enjoyable and made with great quality fresh regional produce. It was hard to decide what to order and impossible to choose which dish was a favourite.



Don't miss dessert, they are a very reasonable $9 a serve and finish the meal with a bang. We couldn't go past sharing the legendary lemon tart which certainly lived up to the hype. It was light but rich and full of tangy citrus flavours.



The King River Cafe welcomes families and will adjust dishes to suit young palates. They have a takeaway option (especially for pizzas), are available for function catering and sell homemade gourmet jams and relishes for $7 a jar.

If you happen to be visiting the Milawa gourmet region of North Eastern Victoria do yourself a favour and dine at King River Cafe.
