If you are lucky enough to come across The King of the Wings mobile food truck, you simply must taste these delicious treats. Dylan and Katrina make Brisbane's best Buffalo wings and they have a fast growing slew of loyal fans (otherwise known as "wingettes") who drive across the city to get their chicken fix and bask in The King's cool vibe.
There are five flavors of Buffalo wings to choose from, with varying degrees of spice. We tasted a bit of each flavor - The American BBQ, The Bee Sting, The Southern Spice, The Portuguese Crumb and The Chillogy (using three of Australia's hottest chillies). This yummy "30 Pack" costs $33.95 and offers diners a selection of all five flavors, which is probably the best option for the first time "wingettes", then you can choose your favorites after that.
After much consideration, my favorite King of the Wings flavor was the honey coated Bee Sting wings, but I really liked the Kentucky herbs on the Southern Spice wings too. You can buy $2 add ons of steamed chicken and garlic rice to have with your wings, or some very tasty sweet potato chips (the perfect compliment to those delicious wings).
Five flavors to choose from - why not choose them all?
So, next time you, or someone you know has an insatiable Buffalo wings craving, check The King of the Wings facebook page for their latest pop-up location and you will not be disappointed.
