The
is an outdoor dining experience that has been inspired by the produce and cheeses of King Island, located in the Bass Strait. Instead of asking diners to travel all the way down towards Australia's island state, it allows Sydney-siders the chance to taste King Island's produce at locations around
The Australian National Maritime Museum .
Why is the dinner taking place at the maritime museum? Well, King Island has some impressive maritime landmarks, including a 48 metre lighthouse at Cape Wickham and many notable shipwrecks, so the museum was chosen for its affinity with these locations. And as a result of the choice, you could be eating on board The Endeavour, or on an outdoor terrace with views of the city and the harbour!
The one-night only will take place on Saturday March 9 and is presented by
King Island Dairy . It will commence at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm seating.
The meal will begin with canapes and sparkling wine, which will be followed by a five course degustation menu that incorporates the best of King Island's fine produce, like King Island beef, deep sea fish and crustaceans, fruits and berries, and King Island Dairy's cheeses, including two brand new releases, the first in seven years.
The dinner costs $110.00 per head and there are only a limited number of tickets available for the event, so if you would like to attend, you should book your place soon. Tickets can be purchased
here .
