Enrolments are now open for Kingston Council's innovative Kindergarten PLUS program for 2018!
Kingston Council is leading the way in its investment in new purpose-build infrastructure and in high quality programs designed to meet the needs of children and families.
Enrolments have now opened for their highly sought after Kindergarten PLUS program in 2018, which will again be delivered from their new state-of-the-art Family and Children's Centres in Parkdale, Edithvale and Carrum.
Designed specifically for 4 year-olds, Kindergarten PLUS is presented as a collaborative team teaching effort between the Bachelor Qualified Teacher, Diploma and Certificate qualified Educators, who plan and implement the program.
Kindergarten PLUS operates 5 days a week, between the hours of 7am and 6pm and includes additional hours of learning and care, going beyond the standard provision of 15 hours of kindergarten per week.
As a result, children are provided with the unique opportunity to engage with supplementary learning modules and excursions within the curriculum. Educators also have a greater capacity to expand on topics of interest to further extend each child's learning and development.
The curriculum is delivered through interactive activities which are engaging, fun and creative and can develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy and other domains, whilst also encouraging children to explore their world and follow their imagination.
Kindergarten PLUS has a key focus on school readiness and enhancing each child's love of learning.
It is suitable for children who turn four years of age by April the 30th in the year before they go to school.
The minimum attendance requirement is two days per week to ensure your child receives maximum value from the learning experiences provided.
