If your a health conscious person, you'll love Kind Living
If your into organic, vegan, sugar free, fresh, tasty food, ( mostly raw) look no further than the Kind Living Cafe in the pretty town of Maleny. This cafe changed hands about a year ago and the new owner is also a naturopath, so this is one cafe you can totally trust.
I ordered the salad wrap and my friend had the kofta balls (around $15) which, if your not familiar with, are cauliflower & cabbage, finely processed with herbs and spices and rolled into balls, lightly cooked in rice oil, drizzled with a raw sprout sauce on top. You can be certain of your food being prepared and cooked in oil that is good for you in this thoughtful cafe. See for yourself here
The emphasis is on vegan food, (no diary, no sugar, no nasty additives, no animal products what so ever). Of course I just had to taste the chocolate pie sitting in their shelf along with other tasty morsels. I had intended to share it with my friend (it was $8 for a slice) but seriously, after one mouthful, I knew I was going to struggle with sharing. How on earth do you make a tasty mouth watering chocolate pie with no sugar that tastes this good?
I love the ambiance of this cafe and the sayings that are written up on the wall one was by Mahatma Ghandi 'My religion is kindness' and other sayings about animals being our friends. This cafe stimulates one's belief system and is a popular choice for Sunshine Coast vegans and vegetarians alike. There are tables inside, a red lounge at the front and a little mushroom table outside.
Their breakfast menu offer a range of healthy choices like warmed organic living chia porridge ($14.95) or an organic breakky burrito wrap consisting of crisp greens, smashed avo and fried mushrooms ($15.95) and there were plenty of lunch choices too like a vegie pad thia, organic of course. The Kind Living Cafe is open Wednesday - Sunday 10am - 3pm.
