Mention the word conspiracy together with CIA, and you have a foundation to a good movie. When you couple this with 'based on a true story', then it goes from good to great.

Kill the Messenger
Following the bread crumbs to alleged CIA's involvement in Crack Cocaine

Kill the Messenger' is one of those movies that has a great cast of actors, which includes Jeremy Renner, Andy Garcia and Ray Liotta to name a few. Of course, this selection of actors adds tremendous value to the production.

The director, Michael Cuesta, cleverly draws viewers into the movie as a witness to Gary Webb's life when he stumbles upon a story which unfolds into the CIA's involvement in drug smuggling.

As an investigative reporter, Webb follows the bread crumbs to write a three part article called 'Dark Alliance'. This creates waves of concern among 'Powers to Be' and soon attention is no longer placed on the story of the corruption, but on Webb himself.

This is a political thriller which leaves you questioning ethics and level that one really has to the 'Freedom of Speech'.

I really enjoyed this movie and would give it at least 4.5 stars out of 5.
