I'm a travelling mother of one, from the UK but now living in Indonesia. Looking forward to sharing day out ideas with you.

Check out the new 'Kidz' hangout spot
With its protected peaceful beach, Sanur is very popular for people with young families but there aren't many family-oriented locations. The KidzCafe Sanur is changing this. Situated on Jl. Kutat Lestari towards the south of Sanur, it's so much more than just a café.
There are many reasons why it's been a hit with local and international families. So let's take a look at them together.
With plenty of parking, it's off to a strong start. There's a small outside section but inside is where you'll find a large play space with climbing apparatus. Think jungle gyms, climbing frames, little bikes and swings. And yet there's still enough room to run around.
There's also a covered area for eating and plenty of shade in the open play part. So it's lovely and cool for all. In case of rain, there's also a toy area with building blocks, books and a toy kitchen etc.
Clubs and Activities I'll try to keep this section short but the list of clubs and activities that the KidzCafe Sanur holds is impressive.
Apart from one-off events like market mornings (a great chance to grab a bargain) or the NEW book club (see below) there are classes organised every day of the week. Sometimes two to three classes a day, suitable for a variety of ages.
If you're looking for academic programs they have you covered with their German classes, Fun Phonics and Maths clubs to name a few. If you want a more traditional culture, there's a wonderful Balinese dance group. For crafty people, look no further than the art sessions, cooking classes and finally to build strength join the taekwondo team.
And these are just to mention a few. Lately, I've seen they have added guitar classes and hip hop so there's always something happening.
Plenty of choices but be sure to check with the venue for up to date information
One of the many reasons I've decided to share this venue with you is that it's now running a book swap club. First things first, this is the same book swap club that I have written about here Sanur Book Club but as children get older the lady that organised it has decided to hand it over to this café so that it can continue. It's fantastic that the families of Sanur can still get access to fun books and an opportunity to meet up and form new lasting friendships.
Daytime activities So, I've mentioned the book clubs and the afternoon clubs but if you're looking for something to do during the day; no problem. They have a Monday to Friday morning program for 1 to 4 year old. Contact the venue for more details.
Food I'm very happy to report the food is of top quality. Sometimes in venues like this, you'll find 'run of the mill' fried this, pizza that and other unhealthy options. The food here is tasty and healthy with just the right amount of local flair. And even though they may offer a kids menu with fan favourites like pasta, there are plenty of vegetables with every option.
My husband is also a big coffee drinker and he loves the coffee there. I prefer the healthier fruit juice options.
For me, it's also the small touches they have made. For example, they know that the children will be running back and forth to play between mouthfuls of food so they have a plate cover they leave with you. It's these small touches that make the KidzClub stand out.
And a birthday spot
On top of everything I've mentioned, I love this place so much that I've even held my daughter's birthday there. Their organisation before and during the event was incredible. So if you're looking for somewhere to take the pressure and stress out of birthday parties this could be the perfect place. It was for us.
So all in all, as you can guess, we love visiting the KidzClub Sanur and can't wait to see you there soon.
