If you're looking for a one stop shop of fun all under one roof, then the even bigger and better Kids Wonderland event has you covered this July school holiday. Families can enjoy rides, performers, activities, crafts, carnival games, live shows and much more - all included in one ticket price.

The Rides

This is the place to head to if you've got kids aged 2-12 years. With an expanded range of rides on offer this year, Kids Wonderland offers something for everyone. For full details of the ride line up click here , and for a quick tease of what's on offer, read on.

With a real focus on selecting rides that cater for all ages, this year's line up includes:

  • The Runaway Train
  • The Lolli Swing
  • The Storm
  • The Samba Balloon
  • Bumper Cars
  • Taxi Jets

  • More rides than in 2014, but for the same price. In addition to the rides, kids will also enjoy the bouncing castle attractions and other inflatable antics. Parents should note, that there are no rides suitable for those under the age of 2.

    The Shows

Whilst the rides are one of the main attractions for the kids, there's a whole lot more included in your entry ticket. Enjoy a full program of activities including shows from the highly awarded ZAP Circus which will have kids and adults gasping out loud at their acrobatic antics. There is a mime workshop for kids wanting to learn about this classic drama technique, in addition to live shows and exhibits from Scitech. Head to the main stage for the interactive Famous Sharron show that fuses kids dreams together with a live performance stage show - you can even take part if you want!

Away from the main stage and the rides, take the family through the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit where kids get to see a range of dinosaurs up close and personal, with the addition of robotics making the exhibit a bit more life like. If you're child wants to meet a T-Rex, now's your chance.

New for 2015 is the Brownes Milking Station, where you can see demonstrations of the milking process, in addition to grabbing some fabulous yogurt samples in exchange for a gold coin donation, with funds going direct to the Starlight Foundation .

    Time Out

If you need a break from the fun and action of the games and rides, there are a couple of zones set up to allow your family some fun times albeit at a slower pace. One such area is the Bricks4Kidz zone, which welcomes your child to explore and create using Duplo or Lego. Lego masters are on hand to supervise and help kids turn their dream into a constructed masterpiece.

There's a special toddler zone this year for 1-3 year olds, supervised by the Jellybean Childcare staff, and offering your little one a chance to explore a range of soft play toys, tunnels and equipment. This will no doubt be a welcome haven for parents of mixed age children.

    Better Than Last Year?

I had the pleasure of meeting with the event organisers for Kids Wonderland during the planning stages of this year's event. Following the 2014 Kids Wonderland, it was clear that there were some teething issues in the first session of the event, with visitors noting a lack of queuing systems, limited baby facilities and some lighting issues. I was thrilled to hear that the event organisers had taken on board the concerns raised during their collation of feedback from event attendees. Indeed, the organisers had even taken the trouble to meet with a number of concerned parents.

For the 2015 event the following changes were put in place:

  • Double the size of the tent - but for the same number of people per session
  • Additional rides - Including a Balloon Ride, Lolly Swing and a Dodgem Track
  • Improved queuing systems including clearly marked 'Ride Entry Points'
  • A clear layout with extra lighting, more seating and tables, additional restrooms
  • Event matting around all walkways making it a Disabled Friendly event
  • The "Helping Hands" Crew who you can ask for any information you may need
  • More food options including all your carnival favourites

  • Details
