Originally known as The Keith Hunt Community Entertainment and Arts Centre, HOTA has also been known as the Gold Coast Arts Centre. In 2018, a fresh rebrand took place and the Home of the Arts was born, creating a more contemporary space with the expansion of the precinct and focusing on embracing the local community with an artistic home. HOTA brings visual and performance arts to residents and visitors of South East Queensland and houses an arts theatre with 1139 seats, the Gold Coast City gallery, two cinemas, a café, several function rooms, a chapel and two small performance spaces.

During the school holidays, for three days from 16 to 18 January 2019, HOTA is also offering a daily schedule of activities where " Kids Take Over ". The activities are as follows and are free.

  • Dance Workshops set times at 10.30am, 11.35, 12.35 and 1.35pm on The Terrace
