Children from toddlers to twelve-year-olds will adore Kids Space, an indoor play centre packed full of adventurous activities. The biggest of its kind in Victoria, it includes exciting attractions like the vertical drop slide and an outer space themed maze.
Tots from six months old don't have to worry about being crushed by bigger kids, with a designated toddler play area fenced off from the rest of the centre. The play equipment in the section is suited to younger children, with a ball pit, slides and a jumping castle. Kids too big to go in the toddler section don't miss out on these activities though, with a separate ball pit and jumping castle of their own.
Older children have more adventurous activities, including an air slide, six metre high climbing wall, and a three-lane rice slide. Kids Space is perhaps best known for its vertical drop slide. The six metre high slide is suitable for children six years and over, and yes, it really is vertical.
All of the equipment is designed to accommodate adults, so you can experience the fun under the guise of watching your little ones. If you'd rather watch from afar, there are tables to sit at and food available.
The fun at Kids Space isn't too pricey if you don't have many kids, with an entry fee that varies with age. Admission is $7 for children one to two years old, $10 for three to five year olds, and $12 for six to twelve year olds. It costs $3.50 per adult, which comes with a free drink.
Kids Space has two locations, in Cheltenham and Hallam. Both are open from seven days, 9.30am until 6:00pm. The equipment at both locations is mostly the same, although Hallam has a few extra exciting activities including a space themed maze, and a model helicopter with propellers that can be controlled from inside the craft.
