Getting dirty and playing with clay makes everyone happy. Especially young children, who love to play and make things. They can express themselves through many different types of art. Pottery is usually considered an art that is for grown-ups, but there is nothing that stops children from getting involved as well. This is the sort of thing that kids might get obsessed with and it will be a lifetime career for them.

Nothing has to be perfect, kids can make their clay creation however they want to. They are welcome to learn and express themselves. Each week, they will have the ability to make something different. It doesn't matter how well the kids go, it is all about them being happy and enjoying themselves. There are going to be mistakes and imperfections and no two pieces will be the same. And that is the beauty of clay and art. There is no right answer.

This class is aimed at small children, from the ages of 5 and 8. For the smaller kids, between 5 and 6, adult parents have to stay with the kids at all times to offer any assistance your child might need. If you happen to be taking a child of 7 or 8, you can leave your kids there to learn on their own if you believe that they have the ability to thrive on their own. If you do want to bring your special needs child, that is fine. You are asked to stay with them for their comfort and your peace of mind. But this is a class for all children, no matter what their abilities might be.

Make sure to bring your child a change of clothes or an apron. The kids are going to get dirty, so make sure whatever they are wearing, that it is going to be ok if they get it dirty. Bring a bottle of water for them as well.

Everything your children need will be provided- the clay, the glazes, the firing and all of the tools are all included in the price of the ticket. When the class finishes, there will not be the chance to immediately bring the finished item home. They all have to be fired twice, and it does take a long time to do this. You will be able to collect your item after 7-10 days.

The class is on every Wednesday between the 22nd of February and the 15th of March. Tickets aren't cheap at $120, but they get an experience they won't forget. The class is in Forrestfield, and it is about an hour long. The class begins at 4pm and ends at 5pm, and put a smile on your kid's face.
