Keep the Kids Happy these Holidays
Occupying the kids over the school holidays is easy with the launch of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games 15th anniversary themed Kids in the Park program. Now in its 11th year, Kids in the Park is a winner with kids of all ages. With over 70 activities, Kids in the Park has the biggest range of school holiday activities in Sydney. Activities will run daily for the entire duration of the holidays (19 September to 5 October), and there are options for kids of all ages, interests and budgets.
Pocket pleasingly there will be 14 FREE activities - and kids are welcome to do one or do them all! Clued on kids can try out Clue Trails – which celebrates the 15th Anniversary of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Clue Trails will run on 25 September and 2 October.
Other free activities include Games at the Armory, Birdlife Discovery Centre, Bike Trails, BMX and Mountain X, Circus Solarus Kids' Games, Crack The Code, Brickpit Ring Walk, Disc Golf, The Amazing Chase, Walking Trails, Sports Star and Dance Star, Operation Art and Walk and Squawk.
Along with the free activities, there are heaps of other things to do that will suit kids of all ages and interests, with 17 activities good value at less than $25.00 per child.
Creative kids can get their fill of all things arty with some cool, crafty activities including pizza and pasta making, sand art, writing, film festival, cookie making and art classes. Notably, kids aged 10-15 will have the opportunity to learn how to create a story as well as produce, shoot and edit their own movie and film soundtrack, at the Media Literacy and Digital Filmmaking Workshop.
Nickelodeon's SLIMEFEST will also take place at the Sports Centre on 25 September, where kids can see performances from The Veronicas, Samantha Jade and Timmy Trumpet and of course there will be lots and lots of slime.......
And lastly, make sure you clear the diary on Sunday 27 September for the Splash Festival at the Homebush Aquatic Centre. There will be a Peppa Pig and George Pig live Stage Show along with plenty of pool inflatables, face painting, kids zoo, amusement rides, reptiles, circus arts and pony rides to go around on the day.
