How do we nurture the iY generation or the 'me, myself and I" young of today to become caring and giving individuals? A group of families from the Sydney Community Foundation recently formed the Kids in Philanthropy to tackle this question.

This Saturday 27 April will be the first KIP Fun Day at The Gordon Uniting Church from 8am to 4pm. The kids have rallied their friends and families to contribute goods and services so that all funds raised that day will be donated to Sydney "not for profit" organisations.

This family friendly event is a great way to shop for second hand toys and books, pre-loved children clothes, face painting, sports demonstrations as well as everyone's favourite - home bake goodies.

If you are unable to make it that day but wish to support KIP's activities, why not pick up a lovely 20cm x 30cm inspirational artwork to decorate your child's room or your office from Share and Inspire , a social enterprise created by Bella (8 years), Charlotte (7 years) and Ashley (5 years) Macdonald, members of KIP.

KIP's goal is to develop a social conscience and a practice of giving in kids, for kids. Its members engage in meaningful projects to raise funds for child related enterprises and making a positive impact in the communities they live in. If you would like to encourage your children to develop this wonderful and meaningful habitudes, get involved in KIP or call Dr Catriona Wallace on 02 99273339 or 61 412 181 284.
