Can you out run Thomas the Tank Engine on the tracks
Get ready for a road trip to the leafy hills of South East Melbourne. Kids tie up those runner laces, put on a hat and sunscreen, grab Mum and Dad and head for the Train Station in Gembrook. This is only about a 40 minute road trip out of the CBD, so the kids won't be saying, "Are we there yet!".
They will be too excited about meeting the HUGE Thomas the Tank Engine racing along his tracks.
Thomas the Tank Engine Train Rides at Puffing Billy Train Station in Gembrook
This is your chance to test your running skills against your favourite train, Thomas the Tank Engine. You probably have ridden on him at a local community event or shopping centre. You are adored watching him on TV as a treat. You have read all the books where he has saved the day. Now is your chance to race your strong legs against him in support of the Monash Children's Hospital.
Pick out your favourite Face Paint Theme to compliment your outfit
There will be trophies to the 1st girl and boy in each run. Clowns, circus skills, farm animals and petting zoo, rides, live music, lizzy's lizards, food and face painting. So pick out your special creature you to have face painted and plan your outfit whether you want to be a butterfly, lion, Thomas the tank, or a spring ladybug.
Lizzy will bring her special lizards to share with you.
Take a picnic to enjoy as well but make sure you bring your water bottle (just like marathon runners) and eat at least 30 minutes before you run. Or make it simple by visiting Gembrook eateries and the shopping centre right beside the train station.
To top off your victorious fun, take that exciting train trip on big Thomas the Real Tank Engine. It is only $5 per ride and in support of a wonderful cause.
The age of the runners and sprinters is set at from 3 years to 12 years old.

This is put together by the Rotary Club of Emerald and District for the benefit of the community. The race has been going since 2002 and raised over 525,000 dollars to help the children's hospital. So far they are up to almost $10,000 for this year's event. Join in or just donate but do not let this lifetime event past. Your kids will remember it forever. It is a special moment to be cherished to ride Thomas on the Puffing Billy Line.
Join in the day, have a family fun time, escape the city, and all for a good cause. Hope you beat Thomas. Run hard.
