I am a world traveller & a mom of two, (8 & 6). I love to meet people, and am fascinated that there are 7 billion stories out there to be explored. I think Melbourne is the most happening city to live in with all the fun activities around town.

Kids Just Want to Have Fun at Prahran Market
Falling in love with the beautiful Prahran Market is not difficult. It is well organized, offers all the treats that a market should, plus offers the avid visitor the opportunity to go on a mystery voyage through the undiscovered land of hidden secrets, be they kitchen gadgets, exotic delicacies, or yummy delights to munch on.
The Historical Building of Prahran Market is 150 years old
Prahran Market offers an experience not only for the adults but the little ones as well. The Market Square is a most ideal place for a small to medium group of kids accompanied by their guardians to enjoy the event on offer. Among the regular activities are:
One of the greatest delights of childhood has to be face painting. Prahran Market offers it for free, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (check timings). Children can have their favourite character painted or just go on a wild whim. Best part is that if they don't like it, they can come again and try something different.
The Mexican Music Man Every Thursday morning (10am to 1pm), the Market Square transforms into a singing and dancing musical event when the Mexican Music Man, dressed in traditional attire, brings out his guitar and is accompanied by the cacophony of children trying their hands out on the variety of musical instruments made available to them. Singing nursery rhymes is a bonus.
Say what? For half an hour, the Market Square is the place you want your kids to be in on Fridays (10am to 10:30am) when Jess Smith from The Space Dance and Arts Centre creates her magic of movement alive... for free.
Peninsula Mobile Animal Farm If your children love animals, no problem, Prahran Market has that covered as well. On Tuesdays (9:30am to 12:30pm), the Peninsula Mobile Animal Farm sets up their enclosure and gives children the opportunity to get up close and personal with some farm animals, like lambs, calves, goats, rabbits, poultry, guinea pigs and more. Cost $5 per child.
The Prahran Market experience is one of a kind so if you haven't been there already, plan a visit without any further delay. Enjoy the unique atmosphere and share your love experience in the comments section.
