The St Kilda Festival is a great spot to meet people and enjoy great music, community events and learn something new. Held in the bay side suburb of St Kilda only 7.5km south of Melbourne's CBD, there is something there for everyone.
We have been going to the festival for many year, starting with children in backpacks, prams and now they wander on foot. There are many events and workshops for kids and I would look at planning your day before going. The festival runs from Sunday 2 February to Saturday 8 February, with many funky, cool kids things happening on the opening day (Sunday 9 Feb). Head over to Kidzone stage in the Catani Gardens for a children's festival with loads of dancing, music and activities for children of all ages.

But that's not all! The St Kilda Festival is a huge and there is also roving performances and the Team Holiday's Kids Activity Zone which is suitable for 5 -12 year old children. Here you will find activities such as trampoline fun, tail tiggy, skittles, and poison ball games - let alone the massive line up of musicians.
Why not try something a little different and attend the free Kids Fishing Workshop from 10:00am - 1:30pm (Sunday 2 Feb) on St Kilda Pier or The Nearest to the Pin Competition from 10:00am - 3:00pm in the Catani Gardens. The events are free, you just need to get there and have some fun with your family.
If you have not been to the St Kilda Festival, it is well worth a visit. Catch the tram as parking can be challenging. There is extensive information about how to get there available.
