Last year, over 80 young and talented buskers hit the streets of Queenscliff to raise $36,000 for the Good Friday Appeal. This year, they hope to achieve an even larger sum.



On Good Friday (April 6), the town of Queenscliff will host the 2nd annual 'Kids Busking For The Kids' event, where young people (aged between eight and 25 years old) will perform at 12 'unplugged' sites around the town. All money raised by the buskers will go to the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal .

This fantastic event allows young buskers to showcase their talents to the public, all for a very worthy cause.

There will be plenty of activities to do on the day, in between listening to and watching the young performers, although admittedly, these activities are more for children and teenagers, than for adults. As well as the usual face painting and jumping castles, there will be an old-fashioned photo booth, an ice sculpting display, badge making, a marine touch tank, major raffles, footpath chalk art, train rides and an egg guessing competition. There will also be food and market stalls lining Hesse Street, giving you the chance to shop and eat while you listen to live music.



Young people who want to join in the fun but haven't had any performing experiences can visit High Voltage Rock School , and participate in their interactive sessions. They can also go to The Music Box, where they will have the chance to play around with different instruments and sing songs.

Sponsored by the Queenscliff Music Festival , 'Kids Busking For The Kids' is a great event for young and old, and a wonderful opportunity for a variety of young performers to show us what they've got, all while raising money for their sick and injured peers.
