If you think Bunnings is only for dads and tradies, that's not completely right. Bunnings is definitely more than just a hardware store. It offers little something for everyone, including children.

Children trolley
Almost all Bunnings stores have an indoor kids playground with gates that are fitted with child-safe locks for security. They recommended the playground for ages 4 to 12 years. I supervise my 2 and a half-year-old daughter in the playground.

A lot of Bunnings stores have a cafe inside (most of them located nearby the indoor playground), called Hardware Cafe. The Hardware Cafe serves up hot drinks, cakes, pies, sandwiches and cold drinks. The hit for children is their cheap or free babycinos. Please check your local Bunnings for their Hardware Cafe opening hours. Usually it will be open from 9am to 4pm. Some food at Hardware Cafe will be discounted price prior to the closing time of the cafe.

On the weekends, there are DIY workshops for children over 5 years old . The free children's activities will not only entertain the children, but also will teach them a few handy skills. From special handmade gifts (recycled wall art & painting), to garden projects (planter boxes & decorating a watering can) and games to play (toy truck & wooden animala), all items can be brought back home to enjoy. Please be aware that an adult must accompany all children during this activities. Bookings are essentials as workshop numbers are limited. You can do book online through their website. They also have incorporated special occasion DIY workshops for Father's day, Christmas, Easter and so on. Sometimes they also have "Special Family Night" to celebrate a special event as well.
