Unlike the usual supermarket shop, going to a farmers market is always fun for the kids. There's more fun than just good healthy food to be found. Kids can be encouraged to meet the people who grow their food. They can see it all in it's most natural state and enjoy the array of colour and taste available at a farmers market. They can also be encouraged to try recipes from scratch and grow their own food to eat. These are important life skills to have in a constantly changing world.
The Adelaide Farmers Market, held at Wayville Showgrounds every Sunday from 8am -1pm is an excellent and central location for kids all over Adelaide to enjoy this special learning experience. Even better, the Adelaide Farmers Markets offers dedicated kids activities!
The Kids' Club offers activities every Sunday at 10am and each week there'll be something different. You can sit down with a coffee while the children are entertained with activities centred on teaching them where food comes from, how it's grown and what's good to eat.
There's fun things to cook, grow and learn each week. Kids' Club is held each week inside the Market Pavilion for children aged between five and twelve.
