Easter Holidays are approaching very fast. If you are planning on attending ticketed events now is the time to secure your spot. If you are winging it with the kids its good to have some ideas in your mind for rainy days - if we actually get any rain.

Easter is always a busy time in Brisbane with families taking advantage of the spring weather, it's the nicest time of the year to be out and about.
5 Kid Friendly Brisbane Events During Easter


1. FORT LYTTON CANNON FIRING

Date: April 2nd

Time: 9am - 4pm
Cannons will fire at 11:00am, 1pm and 2pm

Where: Fort Lytton National Park MAP
Additoonal Information: Fort Lytton Website

Hear the big guns roar as the historic 64 pounder and 6 pounder cannons are fired at Fort Lytton by the Brisbane Garrison Battery and "A" Battery Queensland Permanent Artillery.

Additional Information: Fort Lytton is Queensland's largest military museum and regular military re-enactments. Guided tours are free 10am-4pm. Free Parking available.

2. Kid Skills - MAKE CREATIONS FROM HOUSEHOLD JUNK

When? Saturday April 8th

From The Event Organisers: Put down your iPads and try something new these school holidays. Boys and girls will love this hands-on workshop where they can hammer, nail, glue and build cool stuff. And parents might learn a few things too!!

3. UNTAPPED - RAW DANCE PERFORMING ART

Untapped is a mix of funk, hip hop, flamenco, African and jazz, paired with percussive a capella. The performance includes Beatboxing and percussive a capella numbers.

4. VISIT BRISBANES KID FRIENDLY MARKETS

There are loads of markets in the Brisbane area. Here are three that will suit the Easter Holidays. They are family friendly and include activities for the kids to keep them occupied.

CLEVELAND TWILIGHT MARKETS - Produce, Handmade Items, Food Trucks Kids Activities.
EAGLE FARM MARKETS - Produce, Food, Fashion, Closet Cleanouts. Jumping Castle For The Kids
5. Visit A Local Park Or Playground

It's FREE! Pack a picnic and visit a local park or playground. Here are a few playgrounds in the Redlands Area, south of Brisbane.

Fellmonger Park - Take the walk to Apex Park where you will find Playground equipment including a flying fox and BMX track.
Victoria Point Cascades - The perfect spot for a picnic, right next door to a skate & BMX track.
GJ Walter Park - A small park by the water with lots of shade.
If you are closer to the city enjoy a trip to South Bank and visit one of Brisbane's premiere playgrounds. South Bank has the additional bonus of being able to have a swim, which you might need if this glorious QLD weather keeps up!
