Hoop Hoop Hooray stitching workshops
Learn how to hand stitch at these affordable crafternoons

There are a number of skills which are in danger of dying out. Luckily, thanks to Elise Hinkley at Hoop Hoop Hooray, hand stitching isn't one of them.

Elise, a teacher's assistant in her non-sewing time and mother-of-two, offers boys and girls (6 years plus) the chance to make a series of quaint projects, such as cute llamas, dinosaurs and unicorns, while learning the basics of hand stitching. Classes are kept small to facilitate learning, and kids make themselves comfy on beanbags and sofas while they stitch.

Most workshops are run from Elise's home in Greenwood and she offers a series of classes for different age groups. The price of each workshop includes not only Elise's tutelage and all supplies, but a light morning or afternoon tea for crafters. The Young Adult workshops (10 years plus) includes pizza, while adults only groups are also run on request.

During the school holidays, Elise offers basic stitching workshops as well as more advanced classes where children are taught to draw and then stitch their own design. She also offers private sessions for small groups, which are perfect for birthday parties and can be booked on demand. Private parties run for two hours and cost $20 per child (minimum of four children).

Elise's goal is to offer affordable stitching and craft workshops for the kids of Perth, and each of the three hour sessions start at only $35 per person.
