The two day 60 km Annual Walk to End Women's Cancers is on again for the third year in late February 2015. It's a fantastic cause with all funds raised going to the QIMR Berghoffer Medical Research Institute and a great way to maintain your fitness. However a walk such as this is not for everyone. Luckily you can still help raise money for cancer research by attending the fundraising event Kick Cancer To The Curb on 21 March at Brighton Roosters Junior Rugby League Club.

Sadly enough one in three Australian women will be diagnosed with a women's cancer (cervical, ovarian, breast, uterine) before they turn 85. There has been a lot of publicity around these cancers in the last few years and lots of money raised to research the diseases and develop a cure. Much of this money has been raised by dedicated individuals such as Rochelle Courtenay of Bella U Personal Training, who is part of a team that will be walking the 60km in 2015.

In addition to walking, the team is organising the event, Kick Cancer To The Curb, as part of efforts to raise $10,000 towards cancer research, treatment and care. The event sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to raise money for such an important cause. There will be wine and cheese and entertainment by one of the finalists of 2014's The Voice, Talia Gouge. This enjoyable afternoon which includes prizes and raffles only costs $20 with tickets available for purchase from Eventbrite .

You don't get much for $20 these days but this will be money well spent, a great afternoon knowing that your money is going to a good cause.
