Act, belong, commit. We've all seen the advertisements. We all know the message. We should all be trying to integrate those three little words into our daily lifestyle.
Mentally Healthy WA may be the creator of the act, belong, commit message but other non-profit mental health organisations, such as Lifeline WA, endorse similar messages in their fight against suicide.
Lifeline WA is the leading suicide prevention services provider in Australia. They offer a 24 hour crisis support line, face to face counselling services, educational programs and campaigns to raise awareness of mental health.
The HelpMe Campaign is Lifeline WA's most recent campaign that aims to prevent suicide by encouraging people to seek out support when they are feeling vulnerable. In an attempt to raise funds for this campaign, The Kitchen Headquarters Golf Day event will be held next Tuesday at Burswood Park Golf Course.
The event gives everyone the opportunity to do their part to contribute to ensuring the mental wellbeing of West Australians while spending the day being active and social.
Starting at 11:30am, groups will consist of a four ball ambrose with a golf cart. Teams will proceed through a number of fun holes including: the longest drive, betting hole and also a beer and prawn/wine and cheese hole.
The day ends with a three course dinner along with a number of prizes, raffles, auctions and presentations.
Proudly sponsored by Rick Hart, the KHQ Golf Day is sure to make some significant contributions to Lifeline WA's HelpMe Campaign as well as the Peter Hughes Burn Foundation.
What better way to feel good about yourself then to contribute to a worthy cause while spending the day playing golf out in the sunshine? We should all try to dedicate Tuesday 22nd November to fulfilling the act, belong, commit initiative.
